Femme Fatale: “Powerful in Pink”

“Pink.” // A historically demure hue that eludes to femininity and a sense of delicate softness. Well My Fabs, it looks like the tides have changed. It seems that “pretty pink’ is no longer just reserved for little girls under the age of ten. This sultry tone is being readopted by women of all ages; ultimately making it spring 2016’s focal color of the season. Just see for yourself. Pick up any style magazine, whether it be Vogue, InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar, etc. and you’ll see pink splashed over almost every page, on every celebrity, and in every clothing advertisement. My mother always said that pink is a universally flattering color, and I now see what she’s been blabbing about all these years. Not only is the shade feminine, classy, but it’s got some sort of innocent sexiness to it as well. Paired with similar soft, neutral tones you’ll feel like an angelic powerhouse. Sounds odd, and somewhat of a dichotomy, but give it a try and you’ll understand just what I’m preaching about.

Now take a peek at the outfit pictured above. This look screams, “I am woman hear me roar..but I’m gonna look damn pretty doing so.” This light pink cropped Flutter Sleeve Blouse compliments the gray + white lace pencil skirt just right, without making the outfit come across too conservative or stuffy.  A pencil skirt that isn’t a body-con poly-acrylic Kim K. blend can easily look too formal if not paired with the right top. This is why I suggest a slightly cropped blouse to keep the look young and fresh. After all, you don’t want your outfit to scream, “Great! I’m ready for my job interview!” I mean, no one wants to look like they’re going to a  job interview. Hell, I  don’t even want to look like I’m going to a job interview when I am going to a job interview. Aside from the cropped blouse sparing the look from this atrociousness, the lightness of the tones and the softness of the textures creates an air of sex appeal. This sense of sex appeal is what made me feel strong, beautiful, and almost whimsical. Granted, the 4″ heel on the sleek, chic Faux Patent Leather Pumps in Nude didn’t hurt either. If you want to feel the same sense of sensual sophistication as I did, then please, stop by your local Forever 21 retailer, or simply visit the links above to purchase this particular look. Speaking of which, before I wrap up this post, I must give a very big thank you to Forever 21 for suiting me up from head to toe, lingerie included, for a grand total of less than $100.00. Talk about a true Fab Frugal Fashionista moment, right? With this outfit in tow, I am now ready to bring spring in with a bang, or maybe a courtesy…?

So, My Fab,  give the color of the season a whirl. // Whether you’re looking to tap into your pretty, feminine side, or channel your seductive powers in a subtle, sophisticated way; either way PINK may just be the color for you.
